Photo Lecture Assignment

Sophie (dog) and Amy by Me
A) The Purpose of the picture is to show "cuteness". My friend Amy had fallen asleep at a and Sophie climbed on top of her and did the same thing. I choose this picture because I don't have many picture that I have actually take of other people.
B) Me and Amy are friends. The picture is taken as a sense of humor. The subject isn't aware of the the picture being taken
C)The photo is intended to be view in a "cute" moment, meaning look at the cuteness of it. I can be looked at for hours or a few minutes. No

Some Guy climbing a Mountain taken by Someone I don't Know
A) The photo sort of looks like an advertising ad for Nike maybe. A friend sent it to me because they heard of the assignment
B) The relationship came seen as the guy being almost to achieving his goal and the photographer capturing that moment. The angle of the picture influences it the most, showing the full body and the guy working his way up the mountain face gives the photo power. The subject seems to be saying to the photographer "check this out", as he climbs.
C) It's intended to be viewed as is. I could be for mountain climbers or just the general public. Taking in the photo for a few seconds would get the point across. I won't remember the photo in 10 years

Me taken by Jacquelyn
A) We were at camp having a Carnival Night. I was a Camp Counselor and my cabin of kids choose me to throw water balloons at. Jacquelyn took it because the water and the girl who has a pitcher's arm were a shock to me; also to capture the memory of another great summer at camp. I chose it because I like to remember the days of being at camp now, with summer being so close near. I haven't seen Jackie (her nickname) for a few months.
B) Her and me are friends, it was a fun time, being cold and covered in water. The picture is a show for laughs and memories. The photo does look as if it was taken in the moment of things going on around the scene, for example the body shot of someone in the foreground. Jackie is capturing the moment to show what has taken place, the situation of everything. My attitude towards her is surprised that there was a photo taken of me wet.
C) The photo is intended to be viewed as sort of a series of camp events, a scrapbook of summer camp. Showing the good times, full of fun, excitement, memories and joy. It can be viewed by anyone and everyone with an explanation because the scene within the photo doesn't tell you what is going on at all. I would remember it in 10 years.

Revision

"You know you're just jaywalked, right?"
"Nuh-huh, I just crossed the street."
"The light was red and you walked through the middle of the street, the cross walk is over here!"
"Yea well there aren't any cops to arrest me for jaywalking."
"Ha, so you did jaywalk?"
"Wait a minute jaywalking means not looking before you cross the street, I looked."
"You're gonna argue with me, a CJ (Criminal Justice) major about the law?"
"I'm not argruing with you just proving my point, which is that I'm right."
"You're such a jerk."
"Sometimes."
"What if that car didn't stop?"
"The car would have stopped, I'm a pedestrian, I had the right of way."
"You're a pedestrain crossing the middle of the street!"
'"See you just proved my point that I safely crossed the street."
"Your point?"
"Yea that I crossed the street not jaywalked like you said."
"Dealing with you is going to make me late for class."
"I thought you said we were heading to lunch, isn't that why we are walking to your car?"
"Oh, see I'm not even focused"
"Where are we going for lunch anyway?"
"Police Station, go to turn in somebody, I mean stuff"
"Hahahaha, very funny really where's lunch going to be at today?"
"I don't know any place you want to go?
"Olive Garden, haven't been there in a while"
"Hmmmmm bread sticks."
"Cool so who is going to pay for dinner"
"Are you trying to start another argument"
"We weren't even arguing, we were having a sophisticated conversation"
"Oh, bs. It was an argument and you know it"
"Fine but i won the argument, 1 point for me, 1-0"
"Ugh, get in the car so we can go get lunch"
"Olive Garden here we come"
"How was class today?"
"Class was cool, we spent the whole hour watching comedy videos."
"Oh you're taking Ms. Cates right?"
"Yea, she is freaking HILARIOUS"
"Cool."
"How was you day class?"
"I freaking hate my class."
"Why?"
"Cus I just do, it's boring. The book is just a bunch of other books put together and they like tell you to look at figure-8 but there isn't even a figure-8. It's ridiculous"
"Wow, that sounds like it can be frustrating"
"It is."

Autobiographical Internal/Private World: Painting

For my mapping experience of my life from birth to present and beyond I want to do a painting, it's an art form which i hate to take apart of but appreciate from distance. By working with paint and getting use to it i can probably learn to like it and get better with it.

Locations:
Houston, in and around the area...I lived in a few places around the city, spent the longest of which in Highlands, TX for middle and high school at Chinquapin School (boarding school for basics)
Living a boarding school was fun and exciting, for my particular school, staying up all night with the guys watching movies and eating junk food or planning a kitchen raid or having wrestling matches not caring that we have laps and homework due the next morning.

Relationships:
I have gained so many friends from Chinquapin, knowing that we can stay in touch with each other, thanks to facebook. The strongest bonds that I have my Fantasic Four homies: Angel, Jose and Juan (I'm the fourth). Starting middle and high school together they were what kept me strong.

Things said to you:
When i was younger, I asked my grandma "why i had to go school". Her reply was "to take care of granny". She said "you have to go to school, school, school, school, school, school, school and school and then college, college, college and college after that you get a job and you take care of granny". She repeated "school" and "college" to get across to me that I to go to them that many years, hand gestures were involved to get the point across. I was a little kid at the time she said this to me and didn't understand why I had to go to school while she and other people went to work.

Educational Experiences:
I've already mentioned about the Fantastic Four and experiences at Chinquapin
Texas Southern University- Before coming to Sam Houston State, I attended Texas Southern. Being there was the first time I was around other people who had the same interest and inspiration in art like myself.
Sam Houston State University- while at TSU I told myself I wanted to make art my life, a career out of it. Coming here I plan to follow that idea.
Experiences of Joy/Belonging:
I spent a few weeks in Maine with the Angel and Jose. We wanted to do something over the summer together. We went Darrow Wilderness Camp for three week, we did everything they offered. Kayaking, canoeing and mountain climbing. The part of the trip that I experienced the most joy/ belonging just being with the guys knowing we got the chance to be away for the South and have such an amazing time.
